Sick kids again

Wow poor Tristan has been sick for nearly a week now. Last Thursday he came home from daycare not quite right and started throwing up that night which then proceeded onto the other end along with all of that he had a sore throat and keep breaking out in this weird rash all over. I thought that by Sunday all was well and then he woke up in the middle of the night and......... again lower end. Thinking there couldn't possibly be anything left and considering he had been running around like a silly chook for the next two days I decided that he could go back to daycare on Today alas I got a call at lunch time to say that Tristan had thrown up. So off to school I go to get him. He greeted me with the biggest smile and non-stop talking the whole way home and on arrival he announces that he is all better now can I go back to school please to play with my mates. Then he jumps out of the car and jumped on the trampoline for about 10 mins come inside had something to eat and then feel asleep in front of the T.V.
Touch wood he seems to be fine tonight except I discovered that he also has headlice. First time he has ever had them so both of the boys got a buzz cut #1 all over which will have to be #0 tomorrow for Tristan because his head is full of eggs. Lucky Seth doesn't appear to have any neither does Michael but unfortunately I do so off to the chemist for me tomorrow (wish I could shave my head). I have been told that if you dye your hair that will get rid of them so maybe I will try that, due for a top up.

So excited I got second place in the Daisychain monthly page comp. I got to spend some money today, love it when that happens. Here is this months page themed winter. The writing says "I love that Tristan layed down and did the Angel all by himself without any prompting from me" August 2006.

P.S. Update on the weight I have lost three kilos in three weeks not that I feel any different but I am getting there.

P.P.S. Our thoughts go out to Terry, Bindy and Bob Irwin. I had personally met them and they were lovely.

Karate and Dishwashers

Got up and took the boys to Daycare as usual on a Tuesday got home ready for my appointment with a Karate instructor who was trying to join up Tristan. I kinda knew about the club and had already decided to join him up but he still did the whole speech. He starts his first class next Monday. I am a bit nervous I hope he listens and does as he is told. That is the main reason I am joining him up so that he can learn respect and discipline and that you don't need to be so aggressive all of the time.
Then just after he left the Dishwasher man arrived to fix the dishwasher. Wonder what the neighbours were thinking. No kids and Two male callers for the morning. How funny! Hubby rang when the dishwasher man was there and he could hear him talking in the background. Turns out they have met before and have mutual friends.
So glad to have my dishwasher back. Although I must admit (never thought I would ever think this) I quite enjoyed having to do the dishes knowing that it was only for a week or so cause the kids actually left me alone. When I pack the dishwasher they want to help and Seth trys to climb in but for some reason they weren't interested in me while doing the dishes the old fashion way. (Except to play with the rubber gloves)
Well after my monster post last time I wont make this one too long.
Till next time.

Birthday Fun and Racing Cars

My baby sister turned 26 today yehh!!!!! She is currently 20 weeks pregs with her and her hubbys' first bub, and they are so clucky, it cracks me up. Before they decided to have a baby her hubby was adamant he was never going to have children (but we all knew it was a big facade) I must admit though I was very surprised (I cried with excitement) when they told everyone. I honestly thought it would have taken them a few more years to make up their minds. She managed to keep the whole trying thing a secret from me. We are very close and talk just about every day. She did tell me that it was very hard for her and she nearly slipped so many times. Very well done! I dont think I could have kept a secret like that from her.
So this morning I went and picked her and our Dad up (Mum does night shift and sleeps during the morning) and we all went shopping which was the usual can't find what I want and the kids being extremely annoying with the I wants. But the highlight of the trip was the first garage sale that we stopped at on the way, I scoreded a SLR manual 35mm camera with 3 seperate lenses included for $60. Couldn't believe my luck!!! All morning I was thinking there has to be a catch but when I got home put new batteries in everything (camera and flash) it seemed to work fine. Can't say that my fabulous photography will be anything to boast about but I wont know till I put the film in to get developed. That sounds so weird........Film.......No instant photos, it is going to drive me bananas waiting to fill up the film before I can get it developed. Lucky I have so many birthdays in the next couple of weeks. I think I will still double up with my digital camera, I would hate to get the film back and have all of the photos being out of focus etc. Even though I did Film and T.V. at school that was 13 years ago I can't be expected to remember that now can I.
Hubby decided that he couldn't wait until next Sunday for Fathers Day so he went and bought his present today. Wait for it...........he came home with a AFX racing car kit. I must admit he did do a good job with the boys this afternoon teaching them how to race. Tristan (4 & half) picked it up really quickly but Seth (2 & half) stuggled a bit with quite a few flying racing car accidents due to him not understanding that it can't go that fast around corners. A few tears (from both Seth and Hubby, hahaha) and a couple of talks later and everyone was happy. I got the...AND YOU THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE TOO YOUNG TO PLAY THIS... told you so talk at the end of the day. Sorry I was wrong and you were right..........for now anyway.
Michael also found a garage sale today opposite the job site he worked on and bought the boys some bits and pieces to play with. (he would never go to a garage sale with me! LOL) So my day was filled with toys for young and older. Michael finally had a half day off work, first one in 3 weeks and it was great for me and the boys to finally get to spend some time with him.
The kids have gone to bed all hyped up and totally not ready for sleep but very tired, Michael fell asleep at about 9pm (which is a really late night for him he is usually in bed by 7.30pm) he is working again tomorrow, third Sunday in a row.
I am going to continue reading the Da Vinci Code and then go and get some beauty sleep for breakfast with everyone in the morning for Donna's Birthday Party.
Hopefully I will have some photos soon to post.

I Love Taking Photos

This photo of me and Seth is actually one he took with his arm stretched out I haven't edited it at all. So impressed with how well it turned out.

I was showing hubby all of the photos I took of the kids at the beach the other day and Seth decided he wanted to take some photos so hesitantly I handed him the camera and we actually got a couple of good photos not bad for a two year old. So then it turned into an improptu photo shoot with everyone having a go of the camera, we were all laughing so much. My favourite is the one of all of the boys pretend sleeping, as you can see Seth couldn't pretend sleep without the sound effects it was so hard for everyone else not to laugh. Now I just have to scrap them.

Hello Everyone

Well has been a very busy couple of days!!!! My darling sons have been unbelievably naughty lately and I have not been in the frame of mind to deal with it so they have been getting worse until Tristan had a huge punch up with our 5 1/2 year old neighbour and got knocked on his arse. I was hoping that he would realise that he couldn't get away with being so demanding and expecting everyone to go his way but it only made him worse and more aggressive. So we have been having the last two days of major pulling back into line which (unfortunately) I know isn't over yet! Hopefully it shouldn't take too many more days to get him back to normal. The worst part is Seth watches and copies everything Tristan does. Monkey see monkey do!!!
Michaels' business is doing really well but that means he has to work 7 days a week for a while until he gets everything in order and wait for it to settle down. They have had to put their prices up cause they have been getting every job that they quote hence the reason they have so much work to catch up on. Hope he gives himself a break soon. For his sake!
As for me I am tired. With Michael working so much I feel like a single mum even though he has been making a really big effort to be there for quality time with the boys. The boys are rebelling by being really naughty and constantly saying I want my Daddy, I miss my Daddy when he is at work. Which breaks my heart every time they say it cause I know we need Michael to work but they don't understand why he has to go to work. And then when Michael gets home all they want is me. Go figure?
Going to go to bed now
Until next time

Hello again just have to post this photo so I can change my profile photo.

Bye Bye for now xxxooo

Weight issues

Monday I am going on a diet and I am getting something to help me lose weight (I have a pulled muscle in the back of my leg and am not allowed to do heavy exercise). I know that I am not fat but I am definately over weight and NONE of my clothes fit me properly, these jeans are the only pants in my cupboard that fit, my belt snapped and I have to wear my hubbys. Funny how you dont realize that the weight is slowly pileing on untill you see a photo of yourself. Today Me and the boys and my Dad went to Palmwoods to see Michael at work and then we went to the park to go for a walk and for the boys to ride thier bikes (Seth still just pushes his) and play in the playground. I took my camera along as usual. I asked Dad to take some photos of me because I am always taking photos of everyone else but never seem to get any nice ones of myself or I always have a little body hanging off of me. Well not sure if I want any more photos of me for a while. I know it is important to record all of the stages of your life for the future but I wasn't prepared for these photos and these are the good ones. There were some shockers in the bunch especially since Tristan insisted on taking some photos so they were either not in focus or not smileing or trying to get Seth out of the photo plus photos being taken from a low level son not do you any justice.

Just tried to upload some more photos and blogger dosn't want to. (See even the computer doesn't want to see them! hahahaha)

Well the morning was really nice and the boys got so worn out they are both asleep which is really unusual for Tristan he seems to be able to take alot these days before he gets tired enough to sleep.

Untill next time

A trip to the cinema

Sethy just looks so gorgeous in this photo. I couldn't believe it when he fell asleep sitting bold upright. One minute he was talking to me and the next he was asleep. Just so beautiful. I was looking for a photo of Tristan to scrap the other day and I didn't realize how many photos of Seth I take and hardly any of Tristan anymore, suppose it doesn't help that he is never sitting still long enough for me to take one.

I took both of the boys to the cinema today to see Hoodwinked a task that I have only once before attempted. Well last time Seth fell asleep after about 10mins so I thought that if I took them to a 2.30pm session that Seth would surely fall asleep but no........ he jumped all around, ran along the seats, said in a very loud voice "let's go home Mum" several times, threw his blanket onto the seats behind us and then climbed over to get it back and then tried to do it again because it was fun laughing the whole time while I sink down in my seat pretending he wasn't my son. But I figured it was a Wednesday afternoon at a kids movie anyone going to see it at that time should expect kids to be there. And I have to admit he never went anywhere near anyone else considering there was only about 7 other people there and when the two of them went and sat in one of the rows in front of me I could barely hear them talking to each other and I know they don't know how to whisper. So I wont be taking Seth to the cinema again for another couple of years.

I made this page for my friend Hailey. I left the panel on the side empty so she do her own journaling. I just love it, it will be hard to give this page away since I spent hours cutting out the flowers and doing the stitching. Hope she likes it.

Took me a while to post this I wrote it on Wednesday but have only just had the time to sit down and fix up the photos.
Until next time

Hello

I have been feeling really funky lately I don't know if it is my hormones or something else but I have been not wanting to deal with anything. I am, surprisingly, starting to change my everyday routine like not wanting to watch T.V. (really weird) doing more house work and playing more with the kids ie. cooking, painting, drawing and I have been doing major clean outs (due to Tristan wanting his room back and me having to find room for all of my scraping stuff) I know it sounds like a normal day for many housewives but this is not a normal thing for me. I guess that this is just me finally growing up. Now I just havw to get my husband to grow up.

Until next time

Just a quickie

Have gotten heaps of cleaning done in the last few days. Trying to cram my scrap room into my linen cupboard, (not an easy task but I am coming up with some nifty ideas in the process) because my darling son wants his room back and has been so nice in asking, puting up some very good points in his favour eg. I can go to sleep without having to listen to Sethy crying. The best point of all is that he can have his toy box back and play with his toys without Seth. (good luck keeping Seth out). As they say "A change is as good as a holiday" and I definately need a holiday. I will take some photos of the transformation tomorrow and post them soon.

Motorbike Lessons

Sorry the photo is blurry. Yeehhhh. So much fun. I had my first motorbike lesson today with Michael. In our back yard going around the house. It was surprisingly easy. Michael started it for me then told me how to change gears and off I went. I did a couple of laps of the backyard, which isn't that big, then after I got a bit more confident I started to do laps of the house. Soooooo much fun!!!!!! I can't wait to be able to get upto 2nd gear with a little more space to ride.

See you next time

Ratty Kids

It is raining again, so much for a drought in Australia, it has rained so much here lately I am having trouble keeping the inside mould under control cause we cant open the house and air it out. The kids have already had two baths each today cause they keep going outside and playing in the mud and rain - which also means more washing for me to try and get dry. Wish we had a drought here for a while I don't care if my plants die (they always do anyway).

The kids wouldn't let me go and scrapbook by myself today even though Michael was home they still insisted on being attached to my side and Seth was just making a huge mess and then Tristan started fighting him for everything and reaching over to get everything from the back that he knows he is not allowed to touch so I gave up and thought I would have a go at digi scrapping again, I havn't done it for ages.

I took these photos the other night just stuffing around with Seth in the kitchen. I am so lucky that he loves to pose for Mummy. He was so funny he just kept laughing.

The house is quiet now I am going to go and try and scrap before Seth wakes up and Tristan gets sick of watching T.V. with Michael.

Arrrrhhhhh.......

My darling husband is giving up smoking and he is not a very nice person to be around at the moment. He is grumpy...... one minute he is angry and the next he looks like he is going to cry and then he is happy and cuddling and kissing the kids, it is really weird. I hope it doesn't last for too long. I am wondering if the tablets he is taking to quit have anything to do with it or if it is just the quitting, what ever it is I almost wish he would just go and have a smoke.

The boys are feeling much better and are back into mischief. Of course. Seth is so hooked on Scooby Doo #1 at the moment I am so sick of watching it I am regretting buying it. I hired Scooby Doo #2 so that we might be able to watch something different but to no avail he didn't like it (go figure) so we are back to watching #1 all day long.

I went to lunch at my friend Hayleys' place yesterday and got to see a couple of friends that I haven't seen for a while and cuddle their babies, you forget so quickly just how much time a new born takes up - even just having a salad roll for lunch is a huge task - so glad that stage is over for me. It still spins me out that these friends from school are all older than me by a couple of years and they are only just starting their families and I have a 4 and a 2 year old.

Finally got the boys to go to bed at a decent hour last night and I got to stay up and scrap. I got two pages done in just one and a half hours, the first was for the magazine comp. and the other was for Daisychain monthly comp. I just chucked it together and am really happy with how it turned out. The theme is Friendship.

Until next time

Sick Kids and Fashion Parades

I had been looking forward to going to this fashion show fundraiser for the local kindergarten for months. Then Wednesday night Seth woke up dry reach vomiting. Of course I had a scrapbook class booked for Thursday but we made it through the morning without any vomiting or temperatures thinking everything was going to be ok then about 3pm Seth started to vomit everywhere and just wouldn't stop. I was starting to stress not only because he was sick but also that I was going to miss out on my night with my friend the tickets were prepaid and I didn't want to waste them and was so excited about treating Em to our night out. Plus I never get to dress up and go out very often (high heels and make-up). When Michael got home from work I was able to leave Seth and go to pick up Tristan from daycare. Seth seemed to be ok and Michael hadn't complained at all about being left at home with a sick kid. So knowing that I was only going to be just down the road I got ready, Em picked me up and off we went with only one false start - I forgot the tickets.
THE FASHION PARADE
We got a glass of complimentary wine on arrival then snagged front row seats, watched the band "Rock Kitten" - Who were excellent! - then another glass of wine to start the fashion parade with a few nibbles, intermission, another glass of wine for the second half of fashion parade which was also excellent, all of the clothes were so nice I think I need to do some major gym work before I can wear half of them though. After the fashion parade we just enjoyed sitting and talking to everyone and anyone didn't realise how quick the night went before we knew it, it was midnight and they were kicking us out.
SICK KIDS
Got home about 12.30 just in time for Seth to throw up everywhere..... again! Michael had him in the bath standing there with all of his clothes still on, while he got all of the sheets and pillows into the washing machine. Everyone got clean and went to bed about 1.30am. Me and Seth and Em all slept on the mattresses on the lounge room floor. Tristan slept through the whole thing so of course he woke up nice and early the next morning about 6.30am. After several cups of tea and heaps of food I still felt like crap (don't know how I got a hang over from only 3 glasses of wine). So happy that Michael finished work early so Me and Seth could have a sleep. Couldn't believe it when we woke up at 4pm we managed to get 3 hours sleep. Feeling heaps better got up cooked an early dinner everyone seemed happy...... Tristan started throwing up and Seth started with diarrhea. Another great night of sleeplessness from one end of the house to the other not wanting each of them to upset the other.

It is now Saturday night and everyone seems fine I had a big day of cleaning the boys room from top to bottom, walls, sheets and blankets etc. any surface that could be cleaned got cleaned. So fingers crossed we have a good night.

I think you also had better lay down and have a rest too if you just finished reading all of that you must now be tired. Night Night

Competions

I have decided to enter the Everyday Moments Comp from the For keeps Magazine and I have been going through the websites of all of the sponsors. I didn't realize that I had so much of the sponsors products in my stash which makes it easier to do the pages considering you have to use 80% of the sponsors products on every page . Still you never seem to have just that one thing that will finish a page!!! LOL

I am so excited I am going to a fashion parade tomorrow night a fund raiser for the local kindergarten. They are having some awesome shops showing their clothes. Em and I always have our Christmas in July thing every year considering our birthdays are 13th Jan and 1st Feb so we have to spread everything out over the year. This year I get to treat Em. Can't Wait!!!

Better go and get my beauty sleep for tomorrow night!

Scrapbooking

Just finished a workshop with my girls, everyone had fun got lots of pages done. Looking forward to see you again next month. I am getting so excited about entering some scrapbooking competions from the magazines, a little bit overwhelming to think that you layouts that you have spent so much time and effort creating will be judged by people who dont know you.

Everything is going so good at the moment. we are all getting over colds which we tag teamed over the past month or so, one would just get better and then another would get it poor Seth got it twice first and last. (Poor mummy got sleepless nights for everyone. yah!)

I am reading The Da Vinci Code at the moment & I am loving it. I dont normally read anything unless it has something to do with scrapbooking but I got the book on super special and thought I would give it a go. (glad I did) Last night I was supposed to be setting up for my class for today but I started to read and couldn't put it down, needless to say this morning was a mad rush, lucky for me everyone was late.

Well I am going to go and read so more before hubby gets home with the kids.

Hair cut

My friend Emica is going to be so disappointed that I cut my hair but I couldn't resist. I love doing stuff to my hair and I haven't done anything for my hair for ages so here is the after shots (looks heaps better when it is straightened).

I have to admit my favourite hair cut is still the Rachel cut from "Friends". Though this is close when I style it properly.

RED

I did it! It took two goes to try and get full coverage. I am now a red head (for a little while anyway). I am getting some very mixed reactions But my Mum and Dad and Hubby and kids love it so that is all that matters to me.

I went to the Caloundra Bullcock Street Markets on Sunday with my parents and kids, always such a huge effort. We were supposed to meet my Aunty and cousin and her son there but we had already been there for a couple of hours before they got there so Dad took the boys to the park and Mum and I walked the markets again with my aunty and cousin and son. Not very big and all of the stalls have knew stuff which was nice but I love junk markets where you can pick up bargins. So after catching up with them for a coffee and a chat we went home all exhausted.

Untill another day

I hate feeling sick

I have had the worst headache for the last three days. I don't remember the last time I had a headache like this. Nothing has worked for it herbal, pharmaceutical, caffeine or alcohol. Thought it was almost gone then bang out of nowhere it just started to throb again. I think I need a good massage and 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
My Dad's birthday this week (born on the 4th of July) not that that means anything here in Australia, went over to Mum and Dad's for pizza, so yummy!!! even though I only had pizza last Friday still love it.
Got sick of waiting for the hairdressers to ring me so I bought a hair dye today bright red.......My hair is so long I should have gotten 2 boxes, might get another tomorrow and do it again so that it is really red. Hubby loves it.

That's it for now

Scrapbooking...

I went to my first Friday night crop till ya drop. Loved it. After going to the retreat in May I have a new found love for workshops. I started off going to Creative Memories workshops about 2 years ago which I loved but they were all paper and stickers (or as I call it circles, triangles and squares) and I got bored pretty quickly. I just love using embellishments and paint and whatever else I can get my hands on. So, with a little coaxing from a friend, I went and found it to be very convenient, everything is there in the shop (so if you need just 1 thing to finish a page you can get it straight away and the page is done) as you can tell I am very happy with the concept. I still love having workshops at my place and teaching classes but to have that time where I get to ask for ideas and just to be left alone to do my thing without any children or husband... (except for the bloody mobile phone).
On to another topic I picked my children up from childcare today to be told that my 2 year old had been very aggressive. Just so happened that I was to attended an emotional and behavioral seminar tonight (how convenient...lol.) which was very interesting but pointed out that it all has to so with myself and my husbands emotional state and attitude and that the children pick up everything from what we are feeling which makes sense but I can only change me how can I get my husband to calm down and relax?!
Anyway if you have any ideas feel free to leave a comment.
